1. Manual temperature control

Artificial observation of fire is achieved through temperature control. It is mainly determined by experienced operators through various instrument readings of the active cement rotary kiln to determine the kiln temperature. The temperature of the firing zone is estimated by observing the color and shape of the flame through a fire mirror, or the temperature of the exhaust gas at the kiln tail is determined through instruments. So as to adjust and control the kiln temperature. At present, this method is not very accurate, and there may be human errors during operation, and there is a high requirement for fire watchers to observe the fire.

2. Contact based automatic temperature measurement control

Contact based automatic temperature measurement is a traditional method of directly measuring temperature by inserting temperature sensing elements along the radial direction at the position that needs to be measured on the axis of the active cement rotary kiln. The electrical signal is led out through a sliding ring fixed on the kiln body and an external brush system. The sliding ring and brush system are designed to adapt to the rotation of the kiln body. The advantage of this method is that the measurement signal can directly and truly reflect the temperature inside the kiln. The measurement method is simple and requires less investment. But sometimes there may be situations such as poor signal output and poor contact.

Cement rotary kilns are mainly used for roasting active cement and light calcined dolomite used in steel plants and ferroalloy plants. During the use of this device, temperature is a very important factor that directly affects the quality, output, and energy consumption of the product. Therefore, in most cases, temperature detection and control are necessary. This article mainly introduces two temperature control methods to facilitate users in adjusting the temperature of cement rotary kilns.

1. Non contact automatic temperature measurement control

Automatic temperature measurement technology can measure the surface temperature of the kiln through non-contact thermometers, kiln temperature scanning measurement systems, etc. The measurement signal is taken out by the measuring device and sent to the computer, and then the temperature inside the kiln is analyzed through software. A state recognition system based on the characteristics of combustion flame images can also be utilized, which involves obtaining flame images for preprocessing, segmentation, feature extraction, and recognition through a visual detection system, indirectly obtaining the temperature of the rotary kiln. It is currently a relatively good device for observing and measuring temperature, which replaces the traditional method of adjusting temperature based on experience by fire watchers. However, this temperature control method is currently unable to control complex situations such as large smoke and dust in the kiln and low visibility.

2. In the production process of activated cement, the commonly used one is still the rotary kiln production process. The main feature of this process is that it combines the advantages of good preheating in the vertical kiln, low heat consumption, uniform temperature field in the rotary kiln, and high activity. It adopts a rotary kiln with a vertical preheater and a vertical cooler to calcine water debris, achieving the production requirements of energy conservation, environmental protection, and good activity.
